Sara and Chris’s Wedding

Chris and Sara flew in from Chicago a few weeks before their wedding to finalize a few details and to squeeze in an engagement shoot at the Decordova museum. (see images below)  I love doing shoots with my couples before the big day, it gives us a chance to get to know each other and lets them get a sense of how I shoot.  I knew through emails that Chris and Sara would be a fun couple to work with and I was right. So, two weeks later, they flew back to tie the knot at the Commanders Mansion in Watertown.  The guys getting ready at one side of the mansion, girls at the other.  There was lots of buzz and excitement as everyone made their way to the ceremony site outside in the beautiful arbor.   I have to say when I was watching Chris (through my lens of course) watching Sara as she came down the aisle, I definitely had an “I love my job” moment.  It was emotional. They were both just glowing with happiness and there is nothing better to photograph than that.  After the ceremony everyone escaped the cold and warmed up in the mansion with a drink or two.  The Commanders Mansion is such a romantic place filled with history, just perfect for a wedding.  Tables were decorated with beautiful flowers from Blooms of Hope.  It was then onto dinner and dancing,  followed by some emotional speeches and more dancing.  Every guest definitely came prepared to have a lot of fun. It was a great night.  (loved the bride and groom doing the jump rope on the dance floor).  Thanks guys for letting Greg and I be a part of your day and making us feel so welcome! A big thank you Jessica from Alden Blair events.  Jess did an invaluable job of organizing everything from filling all the vendors in with up to date details before the event and on the day, making sure the bride and groom didn’t see each other before the ceremony (always tricky), setting up the decor beautifully to make the whole day run so smoothly.  A very stress free wedding day. You guys did a fantastic job!
