Donna and Simon’s Fitzroy Gardens Wedding
Donna and Simon are going to be one of those couples you see, when they are 80 and still holding each others hand and looking lovingly into each others eyes. I just know it! Their love for each other just oozes from them and their wedding day was no exception!
Marriage, itself, wasn’t a top priority to them. Their love for one another, their 3 beautiful children, their families and their health and happiness are. They were together because they loved to be together. When life threw just about everything it could at them, it was finally time to say “I do” in front of all their family and friends.
I love it when a bride thinks of every beautiful detail. Donna is the queen of details and each of those details had a such flare. The ceremony was complete with stunning hanging flower arrangements, beautifully designed ceremony programs printed on hand fans for guests to cool themselves down, which were stored in a delicate vintage suitcase that belongs to Simon’s grandmother. And then there was the wedding motif, designed around the pattern of the lace on Donna’s dress, bringing the whole thing together.
And, it doesn’t stop there. The seating plan was made up of hilarious nicknames for all the guests, the kids had games and movies to entertain them and the girls bathroom had the most kitted out emergency basket I have ever seen!
The day started at Rockit barber shop, where Simon and best man, Aaron, got spruced up with a traditional straight shave. (I would like to point out here, the cut on Aaron was a war wound from a wedding decoration accident, not from a blade at the barber) 🙂 It was then on to the Park Hyatt to catch Donna slipping into her dress before heading across the road to the Fitzroy Gardens with their two beautiful girls in an awesome vintage Kombi.
The vows are always my favorite part of a wedding, and Donna and Simon’s vows were AMAZING! So sweet, loving and funny all at the same time.
The celebrations then moved into the Pavilion for a night of great speeches, delicious food and dancing. I could go on, but I will let the images do the rest of the talking. Congratulations to you both. You have such a beautiful family and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
