Melbourne Zoo Wedding – Elizabeth and Nash
Elizabeth and Nash contacted me a year ago to photograph their wedding at Melbourne zoo. I was excited- a chance to photograph my two favorite things at the same time, weddings and animals! The year came around so quickly and in January we finally met to discuss their plans. Through emails, I felt like I knew Elizabeth and Nash and that their wedding would be fun, but as soon as I met them, I knew it would be beautiful and romantic too. I came away from the meeting thinking, what a sweet couple! They seemed so in sync with one another.
March 23rd came around and the day started off at the Windsor hotel with Elizabeth getting ready with her parents and sisters. Liz was cool, calm and collected. When we arrived at the zoo, Nash was greeting the arriving guests and you couldn’t tell at all that he had been up all night with last minute wedding details.
The ceremony was beautiful, and it had Liz and Nash written all over it with lots of personal touches – The romance in the beautiful vows, the grand gestures of Nash surprising Liz with an extra ring, and a little quirkiness, with a Seinfeld quote as a reading. 🙂
After the ceremony we were free to wander around the zoo which gave us the opportunity to create some unique bride and groom photos!
Then it was on to the reception room which had floor to ceiling glass windows with cute monkeys swinging on the trees as a backdrop, how cool!
To finish the day we were able to go inside the giraffe enclosure for some final photos. As Elizabeth was feeding the giraffe, the giraffe pulled up on the brunch of greenery and her feet literally lifted off the ground, without skipping a beat, Nash pulled his bride back down. Liz’s sister had described Nash to me as Elizabeth’s knight in shining armor, and I couldn’t agree more. It is clear to everyone that these two were made for each other, and I know you will have a lifetime of happiness ahead, filled with love, laughter and lots of travel! Congrats again you two!
