Simon and Sonika – Melbourne Zoo Wedding Reception

I was so excited when Simon and Sonika contacted me to photograph their wedding reception at Melbourne zoo.  Photographing animals and people, it’s my favorite combo!  Simon and Sonika had their wedding in India a few weeks beforehand and were ready to celebrate with friends and family in Melbourne.  These two are so in love that their happiness is truly infectious.  And a piece of cake to photograph! 🙂 They are just adorable together!

Simon used to volunteer at the zoo and so where better to have a celebration than where your passions lie! It is so fun to be there after the crowds have dispersed, we had some fun playing with the tigers, well winding them up really, luckily the glass was sturdy because after 5 minutes of tiger teasing, he was ready and eager to eat us.  We took the hint and moved on…  The seals took the night off and the giraffes took some convincing to join us, but it is always a pleasure to be around such majestic animals.

The reception was complete with a photobooth, speeches, dancing (including a little bollywood number), good food and good company, the perfect recipe for a good time!
